Set in 1865, this is the exploration of a hypothetical serial killer drawing inspiration from, Mel Bergen. Last summer I read the well-reviewed The Dante Club, wrote my own reaction, more about me than the book. It is a great book for lovers of literature, history, mystery, and a must read for anyone who loves Dante and The Inferno. As I was looking through the internet I came across a book called The Dante Club. This is a wonderful an highly engaging book which has so much to offer and so many different levels. Obviously, I'm going on a Civil War theme here, as this novel takes place in the year after the end of the wretched rebellion in the United States. I've been trying to read The Dante Club by Matthew Pearl for the past few months, opening it in 15 minute breaks between classes on the rare days I didn't have studying to in those short periods.
